Jam Cruise 2014 videos: Stanton Moore & Adam Deitch Drum Off / Alan Evans Superjam

I finally made it onto Jam Cruise, something I’ve wanted to do for nearly a decade, and it lived up to all of my expectations and more! Of course I shot a few videos 🙂

Stanton Moore & Adam Deitch drum off

One of the highlights of the week for me was seeing these 2 amazing drummers go head to head. Stanton Moore of Galactic and Adam Deitch of Lettuce / Break Science / Pretty Lights. Deitch goes off in the 2nd and 3rd parts and if I had to choose a winner it would be him. Although I think Stanton could cut him if he really wanted to.

Soulive drummer Alan Evans hosted the annual Superjam on the Pool Deck. The theme was movie night, so each song played was a theme from a movie or soundtrack.

In addition, I can remember that they also played Paid The Cost To Be The Boss with Nigel. The Revivalists came out for a Spinal Tap tune and maybe a Rolling Stones tune as well.

Funk It’s Bear Creek Music Fest 2013 Videos

Here it is. A massive slap of funk upside your head. This highlight video will give you a glimpse into this “funky festival in the fall”. Featuring clips from 39 different performances over 3 days and 4 nights, this 27 minute collage represents the work of one man armed with 3 video cameras and 1 mic. With any event bringing together this many talented musicians and acts you can never experience all of it, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t try.

Nigel Hall Band + Galactic with David Shaw – Indianapolis, IN @ The Vogue Theater 4/4/13

On a recent Thursday night, I headed up to Indianapolis to one of my favorite venues in the region, The Vogue Theater (look for more videos in a few months after I catch Mos Def at this venue!)

Nigel Hall Band

The opening act was the Nigel Hall Band, which featured Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff and Erick “Jesus” Coomes (from Lettuce) and Jermal Watson (from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band). I walked in and got set up a few minutes late, but you can watch most of the set right here.
