New Orleans’ own DJ Soul Sister sat down with jazz bassist extraordinaire Christian McBride for an interview/discussion on the last day of the 2015 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Grabbing some quick AC and foot rest at the inside Allison Miner Music Heritage Stage after a historic set by the original Meters with Cyril Neville and a Khris Royal led horn section, I sat back and listened to Christian McBride kick knowledge on his time spent with Freddie Hubbard, James Brown and several other subjects.

Later, McBride closed the WWOZ Jazz Tent with his Christian McBride Big Band featuring Dianne Reeves and Jeffrey Osborne. Here’s a few short video clips from that set:
