Flying Lotus

Flying Lotus is touring the USA right now supporting his new album, You’re Dead!, and Thundercat is the opening act. Fortunately for those of us that can’t catch this tour, a Minneapolis taper named LucidNight has captured their performances at the legendary First Avenue club.

Both Flylo and Thundercat seem in high spirits, and both remark on how it was the birthday of their friend Austin Peralta, the young pianist and composer who lost his life way too early 2 years ago. Sidewalk Chalk brings their hip hop sound to Louisville for the recording of a live album

Sidewalk Chalk - Haymarket Whiskey Bar

Sidewalk Chalk is an up and coming band from Chicago that blends hip hop, soul, jazz, and funk into a sound all their own. Their sound has coalesced into an original stew that was on full display when they hit Haymarket Whiskey Bar in Louisville recently.

The band was on the road on an 8 date tour, recording every show to put together an upcoming live album. I have no doubt that at least a few of the performances in Louisville will make the cut for the live album. I captured a few videos of the vibe, which you can view below.
